To inspire students to appreciate, preserve and creatively reinterpret India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage, while encouraging them to develop their unique artistic voice and contribute to keeping our traditions vibrant for future generations.
The Heritage Art Club is a creative platform that nurtures artistic expression while fostering a deeper appreciation for India’s rich and diverse artistic and cultural heritage. The club provides students with opportunities to explore traditional art forms, indigenous crafts, cultural practices and contemporary forms of artistic expression, helping them discover the enduring connection between art, culture, history and society.
Through art and craft activities, competitions, workshops, exhibitions and heritage-based projects, students engage in experiential learning and express their ideas through a variety of creative mediums. Activities such as drawing, painting, collage making, kite making, poster designing, traditional crafts and thematic artwork introduce learners to diverse artistic traditions while allowing them to interpret them in their own creative ways.
The club aims to develop essential creative and personal skills, including observation, imagination, creativity, patience, collaboration, attention to detail and artistic confidence. By exploring traditional techniques, motifs, crafts and cultural themes, students gain an understanding of the artistic legacy passed down through generations and develop a sense of responsibility towards its appreciation and preservation.
The Heritage Art Club also provides a space for students to celebrate India’s cultural diversity and discover their own artistic potential. By combining traditional knowledge with contemporary creativity, the club makes heritage learning engaging, interactive and meaningful for young learners.

INTER-ZONAL ART ACTIVITIES

Activity Name: Inter-Zonal Art Competition – Junior Girls Collage
Venue: Govt. Co-ed SSS, B-3 Paschim Vihar.
An Inter-Zonal Art Competition was organized on 27th August 2026, providing young artists with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, imagination, and artistic skills at a broader level. The competition featured Junior Girls Collage Making.
The participants displayed great enthusiasm and originality while creating their collages. They thoughtfully arranged pictures, papers, textures, patterns, and other visual elements to develop attractive and meaningful compositions. The students demonstrated a keen understanding of balance, arrangement, colour harmony, visual appeal, and creative presentation.
The competition provided students with valuable exposure to an inter-zonal platform and encouraged them to present their ideas with confidence. It helped develop creative thinking, visual awareness, patience, concentration, coordination, and artistic expression, while motivating students to explore new approaches to collage making.
As part of the Heritage Art Club, the activity encouraged students to view art as a medium for exploring and celebrating culture and heritage. Activity Name: Inter-Zonal Art Competition (Junior Boys Painting & Senior Girls Drawing)

Following their successful performance at the Zonal level, the students of our school advanced to the Inter-Zonal Art Competitions, held on 21 August 2026. This achievement provided our young artists with a broader platform to showcase their artistic skills, originality and creative vision at a higher level of competition. The competitions featured Junior Boys Painting and Senior Girls Drawing.
The participants demonstrated commendable artistic abilities through thoughtful compositions, imaginative concepts and effective use of visual elements. The Junior Boys Painting Competition enabled students to communicate their ideas through colours, forms, textures and expressive techniques, while the Senior Girls Drawing Competition provided an opportunity to demonstrate observation, imagination, line work, proportion and composition.
The event provided students with valuable exposure beyond the zonal level and enabled them to experience a competitive artistic environment. Participation helped nurture confidence, creativity, concentration, artistic discipline and independent expression, while motivating students to further explore and develop their interests in visual arts.

Activity: Kalash (Matka) Decoration – Celebrating the Art of Traditional Indian Pottery

The Heritage Art Club provides students with an opportunity to connect with India’s rich cultural traditions through creative and hands-on activities. On 10th August 2026, Classes 3rd to 5th students participated in a Kalash (Matka) Decoration activity, exploring the beauty and significance of traditional Indian pottery.
Students learned about the importance of earthen pots in Indian households and traditional life. They then used their creativity to decorate and design their own Kalash (matkas), transforming a simple traditional object into a unique piece of art.
The activity encouraged students to appreciate traditional crafts, explore their creativity, and develop a deeper connection with India’s cultural heritage.
KITE MAKING ACTIVITY

A Kite Making Activity was organised for the students of Classes VI to VIII on 6 August 2026 as part of the Heritage Art Club. The activity provided students with an opportunity to explore their creativity and artistic skills while engaging with the traditional craft of kite making.
The students participated enthusiastically and experimented with colours, patterns, shapes and decorative elements to create their own colourful and imaginative kites. Using materials such as coloured paper, sketch pens, paints, threads and decorative embellishments, they explored the basic process of kite making and gave their creations a unique artistic touch.
The hands-on activity encouraged students to develop creativity, concentration, patience, precision, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. It also provided a platform for self-expression and encouraged learners to appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship involved in traditional art forms.
As an initiative of the Heritage Art Club, the activity helped students connect with the rich tradition of kite making in India and appreciate its cultural significance. It encouraged them to look at a familiar traditional practice from an artistic perspective and understand how cultural traditions can be preserved and celebrated through creative expression.

ZONAL ART ACTIVITIES – ZONE 17

Activity Name: Zonal Competition – Junior Best Out of Waste
A Zonal Competition under Zone 17 was organized on 6th August 2026 for the Junior category, focusing on the creative activity “Best Out of Waste.” The competition provided students with an opportunity to transform discarded and unused materials into useful, decorative, and innovative creations.
The young participants displayed great enthusiasm and originality while working with materials such as paper, cardboard, bottles, packaging materials, and other reusable items. They thoughtfully combined different materials, colours, textures, and forms to create attractive and purposeful articles.
The activity encouraged students to understand the importance of reusing and recycling waste materials and promoted awareness about responsible use of resources. It also helped develop creative thinking, imagination, problem-solving skills, hand-eye coordination, patience, and confidence among the participants.
As a part of the Heritage Art Club, the competition encouraged students to explore creativity through sustainable art and craft. It highlighted how everyday discarded materials can be given a new purpose through imagination and artistic skills, while fostering respect for our environment and creative traditions.
The successful conduct of the Zone 17 Junior Best Out of Waste Competition provided a meaningful platform for students to showcase their innovative ideas and artistic talent while learning the value of sustainability and responsible living.
