CHILDREN’S DAY

This year’s Children’s Day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm through a specially planned online session. Despite the virtual setting, the energy and excitement of the students made the event truly memorable.

The celebration commenced with a cheerful music and dance activity, where children danced freely to lively songs and expressed themselves with enthusiasm. Their bright smiles and joyful participation set a festive tone for the entire session.

To make the event more engaging, a series of fun and interactive games were organised. One of the highlights was the glass pyramid activity, in which students creatively built pyramids using cups and proudly displayed their balanced structures on screen. Another well-loved activity was “Guess the Picture,” where students identified various animals. The game encouraged them to think critically and respond confidently, making it both enjoyable and educational.

The celebration continued with creative tasks that the children thoroughly enjoyed. They enthusiastically completed a colourful worksheet, filling it with bright and vibrant shades. Additionally, students crafted an adorable ladybug stand, showcasing their creativity, patience, and fine motor skills. Each child proudly shared their artwork, adding warmth and charm to the session.

Even in an online setting, the children’s active involvement, cheerful spirit, and enthusiasm made the celebration lively and heart-warming. The Children’s Day celebration was a delightful blend of music, joy, creativity, and meaningful engagement—reminding us once again of how special, talented, and inspiring our children truly are.

GURU NANAK JAYANTI CELEBRATION

“Let no man in the world live in delusion. Without a Guru, none can cross over to the other shore.”Guru Nanak Dev Ji

The Nursery and Kindergarten students of our school celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti with great devotion, enthusiasm, and reverence. To mark this sacred occasion, a serene and beautifully decorated Gurudwara setup was created in the playroom, radiating an atmosphere of peace and spirituality.

The children arrived dressed in traditional attire, looking adorable and respectful. The celebration began with the soothing sound of kirtan, filling the room with positivity. The little ones participated in a parikrama around the Guru Darbar, led by the Five Pyaras (Panj Pyare), walking reverently with folded hands and bowed heads as a mark of respect. Teachers took this opportunity to enlighten the children about the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, emphasizing the values of truth, honesty, equality, kindness, and universal love. The significance of the Five Pyaras and their role in Sikhism was also beautifully explained in an age-appropriate manner.

A special serving of Kadha Prashad was prepared and shared among all, symbolizing the spirit of seva (selfless service) and sharing. The young learners were deeply engaged, curious, and eager to learn, actively participating in every part of the celebration. The event not only brought joy to the children but also instilled in them the values of faith, respect, unity, and togetherness. It was indeed a meaningful and spiritually enriching experience for all.

 

SELF-INTRODUCTION COMPETITION

“Confidence is the first step towards success.”

The Self-Introduction Competition was a delightful and enriching experience for our young learners. The Nursery and Kindergarten students came well-prepared and participated with great confidence and enthusiasm.

Each child took the stage to introduce themselves, sharing their likes, hobbies, and favourite things with bright smiles and joyful energy. It was heart-warming to see their excitement and individuality shine through as they spoke in their own unique ways. The activity provided an excellent platform for the children to develop self-confidence, enhance their speaking skills, and overcome stage fear. It also encouraged them to express their thoughts freely and proudly in front of their peers and teachers.

Overall, the event was a cheerful, engaging, and memorable experience, helping our little ones take an important step in their journey of self-expression and personal growth.

 

SCIENCE WORKSHOP

ACTIVITY – SINK AND FLOAT

The Nursery students enthusiastically participated in a ‘Sink and Float’ experiment, exploring the fascinating world of science through hands-on learning. The activity was designed to introduce young learners to the basic scientific concept of buoyancy in a fun and engaging way.

Various objects such as a ball, coin, leaf, stone, and pencil were placed in water as the children eagerly observed which ones floated on the surface and which sank to the bottom. With keen curiosity, they discovered that light objects tend to float while heavier ones sink.

The experiment sparked excitement and wonder among the little scientists. They actively shared their observations, asked thoughtful questions, and expressed great joy in exploring new ideas. This engaging activity not only nurtured their scientific thinking and observation skills but also made learning a fun-filled experience.

SCIENCE WORKSHOP

SHADOW ACTIVITY(CLASS-NURSERY)

Our school conducted an engaging Logical Thinking – Shadow Activity for the Nursery class. The tiny tots explored the concept of shadows in a fun and creative way by making shadows of different objects using wheat flour. Children were extremely curious and excited to know what they were going to do and observed the changes very keenly. They participated with great confidence and comfort, enjoying every part of the activity. Many children even shared real-life examples of shadows they had seen at home or outside, showing their growing sense of observation. This activity not only developed their logical thinking and reasoning skills but also encouraged imagination, creativity, and scientific curiosity in a playful manner.

SCIENCE WORKSHOP

ACTIVITY – WATER HAS NO SHAPE(CLASS-K.G)

Our school conducted an interesting Science Experiment for the K.G. class on the topic “Water Has No Shape.” Through this activity, children were shown how water takes the shape of the container it is poured into. Different shaped containers were used to make the concept easy and fun to understand. The little ones were very curious and excited to see how water changes its shape.

Along with this, they also explored the properties of water and learned about floating and sinking — how heavy objects sink while light objects float in water. The children eagerly participated and shared their own experiences of observing such things at home, especially while helping their mothers in the kitchen.

They also discussed the importance of saving water and beautifully expressed how they try to use water wisely in their daily life. This hands-on experiment helped in building their scientific thinking, observation, and reasoning skills while making learning joyful and meaningful.

DIWALI CELEBRATION AND BAGLESS DAY

Our school joyfully celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm and excitement. It was observed as a Bagless Day, where children participated in various fun-filled activities related to the festival of lights. The day began with a special assembly, where children shared the importance of Diwali — the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. Students took part in Rangoli making activity, beautifully decorating patterns with vibrant colours. They also enjoyed “Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye” – a cooking without fire activity, where they prepared coconut laddoos and dry fruit laddoos with great excitement. The children showed their creativity in diya and candle decoration and also made beautiful chandeliers. These activities not only brought out their artistic skills but also made them understand the cultural significance of the festival. It was a day full of fun, learning, and celebration. The children truly enjoyed every moment of the Diwali celebration, spreading joy and festive cheer all around.

COLOURING COMPETITION

DATE: 16.10.2025

A Colouring Competition was conducted in our class, and all the children participated with great excitement and enthusiasm. The little artists were fully prepared for the event and were eager to show their creativity through colours. Each child was given a worksheet that had beautiful pictures of flowers, the sun, grass, and birds. They used bright and vibrant colours to make their pictures look attractive and lively. The children enjoyed the activity a lot and expressed their imagination beautifully through their artwork. It was a joyful and engaging experience that helped them improve their fine motor skills, focus, and colour sense. The classroom was filled with laughter, smiles, and colourful creations that made the day truly delightful.

HINDI RECITATION COMPETITION

DATE: 08.10.2025

The Hindi Recitation Competition for Nursery and K.G. classes was conducted on Wednesday 8th October 2025. All the children participated with great enthusiasm. They came dressed beautifully and also brought props related to their rhyme. The competition was held to encourage confidence and love for the Hindi language among the little ones. The children began the program by wishing everyone “Namaste” and “Shubh Prabhat” in Hindi. Each child recited their poem confidently with proper expressions and actions. The props they brought made their performance more attractive and meaningful. All the kids were very excited and happy to participate. Their confidence and preparation showed their hard work. It was a joyful and memorable experience for everyone.

WORKSHOP – GOOD TOUCH AND BAD TOUCH

Our school recently organised a session on Good Touch and Bad Touch to make children aware about personal safety. In this session, children learnt that a good touch makes us feel happy and safe, like a hug from parents or a pat from teachers, while a bad touch makes us feel scared or uncomfortable. They also understood that their body belongs to them and if they don’t like a touch, they should say “NO” loudly, move away, and tell a trusted elder. Along with this, children recited a simple rhyme on Good Touch and Bad Touch which helped them remember that “No means No” and to always keep themselves safe.

DUSSEHRA & NAVRATRI CELEBRATION

Our school celebrated Dussehra and Navratri with great enthusiasm and festive spirit. The children were full of excitement and actively took part in the events. The program began with a puppet show on “Ek Hue the Raja Ram”, creatively narrating the story of Lord Rama’s victory over evil. This was followed by a rhyme session, where the little ones recited festive rhymes with cheerful expressions. Adding to the fun, students made colourful DIY Ravan models using disposable glasses, googly eyes, feathers, and decorative materials. They also showcased their festive spirit by performing a lively dance to celebrate Navratri, which filled the atmosphere with joy and energy. Teachers explained the significance of Dussehra, highlighting the message that truth and goodness always triumph over evil. The celebration concluded with learning, creativity, and unforgettable festive moments, leaving the children excited and inspired.

TEACHERS’S DAY CELEBRATION AND BAGLESS DAY

Our little ones of the Pre-Primary joyfully celebrated Teachers’ Day with love and excitement. The children began the day by presenting beautiful roses to their teachers as a token of respect and affection. They also put up delightful performances filled with rhymes and dances. To make this day more special our teachers also performed which brought smiles to everyone’s faces. To   add to the celebrations, a card-making activity was organized where the children made colorful cards with their tiny hands and heartfelt creativity. These cards were lovingly presented to their teachers, making the day even more special. The celebration was filled with laughter, cheer, and warm moments, truly reflecting the bond between teachers and their little learners. It was a memorable day where the efforts of our young children made their teachers feel cherished and appreciated.

ENGLISH RECITATION COMPETITION

An English Recitation Competition was held on Tuesday 2nd September 2025 for the Pre-Primary children. The tiny tots came forward with great confidence and enthusiasm to recite beautiful poems and rhymes. With charming expressions, clear voices, and lively actions, they made the stage come alive. To make their recitations more attractive, the children also prepared and carried beautiful props, which added colour and creativity of their performances. The competition helped the little ones to improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, and presentation skills, while also boosting their self-confidence. It was truly delightful to watch our young learners showcase their talent with such joy and energy. The event concluded with smiles, applause, and wonderful memories.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Celebrating the spirit of freedom with pride and joy

The spirit of patriotism filled the classrooms of Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School as the toddlers celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm on 14th August 2025, Thursday.

Due to the weather conditions, the celebration was held inside the classrooms instead of the outdoor assembly, but it was no less lively and joyful. The day began with a discussion about the colours of the Indian flag and their meaning, along with popular patriotic slogans. Children then created beautiful kites in their drawing files using the tearing and pasting technique, adding a creative touch to the celebration. The colourful kites reflected their love for the nation and brightened up the classroom. The children sang slogans with energy and pride, and a photo session captured their happy faces and artistic work. The Independence Day celebration not only helped the little ones learn about the importance of freedom but also encouraged creativity and teamwork.

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

“Celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna with joy and devotion”

The auspicious festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the toddlers of Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School on Wednesday 13th August 2025. Our school was beautifully decorated with flowers, buntings, and vibrant rangolis depicting scenes from Krishna’s life. Children came dressed up as little Krishna and Radha, adding colour and charm to the occasion.  The celebrations began with a short story-telling session about the life and teachings of Lord Krishna, followed by bhajans and devotional songs that filled the atmosphere with spirituality. Students performed delightful dances based on Krishna leelas. Classrooms showcased Janmashtami-themed artwork, including flutes, peacock feathers, and butter pots made by the children. They also shared festive sweets and snacks brought from home. The joyous atmosphere not only deepened the children’s cultural understanding but also encouraged values of love, friendship, and devotion. The event concluded with a photo session, capturing the innocence and happiness of the young participants. The Janmashtami celebration was a resounding success, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic education and fostering cultural pride in its students.

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

Our school joyfully celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan, a festival that honour is the beautiful bond of love, care, and protection between brothers and sisters. The programme began with a short introduction about the significance of the day, highlighting how Raksha Bandhan is not only a festival of tying rakhi but also a symbol of unity, trust, and responsibility. Students participated enthusiastically by preparing colorful Rakhis and performing songs, dances that showcased the values of love and respect. A special Rakhi-making competition was also organized, where children displayed their creativity with vibrant designs. Teachers shared the importance of this festival by reminding everyone that the true spirit of Raksha Bandhan lies in spreading harmony and care towards one another. The celebration concluded with the tying of rakhis by students, spreading the message of peace, friendship, and universal brotherhood. It was a memorable day filled with joy, bonding, and cultural learning.

INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY

“Tiger is a symbol of beauty, bravery, strength, and nationality”

Global Tiger Day, often called International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation. It is observed on 29 July each year. It serves as a reminder of the importance of collaborative action to safeguard the future of tigers.

To promote this cause, our little angels of pre-school participated enthusiastically in special activities on the occasion. The significance between wildlife and people was told through discussion. The little angels of Pre-school made different tiger crafts. Circle time was also conducted to make them aware about conservation of Tigers. The theme for International Tiger Day 2025 is “Securing the future of Tigers with Indigenous People and Local Communities at the heart”,

MANGO DAY

Summers can never be complete without a good feast on delicious mangoes.

To cherish the beloved mango season and celebrate the king of fruits, ‘Mango Day’ was celebrated at Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School on 22nd July 2025 by the kindergarten students.
The celebration was a measure to introduce our toddlers to the king of fruits ‘Mango’. The students flaunted various shades of mangoes- yellow and green through their dresses as they came dressed in different shades of the sweet fruit. They were introduced to a wide range of information about mangoes and the benefits of eating mangoes. Various activities were organised to make the day more interesting like fun races, story session and rhyme session related to juicy mango. Takeaways of the mango paper craft were also given to the children. They even brought some food items made of mango. The sole purpose of the entire event was to see a little angels budding and blooming with happiness, excitement and also to make them aware of the qualities of the fruit of the season ‘The Mango’.
Indeed, it was a day full of juicy mango delights. At the end of the day the children left for their homes with immense satisfaction and a vast knowledge about the king of Fruits.

MONSOON MANIA

Rain is nature’s way of adding a little soul to life

The monsoon is in full swing in the city and toddlers of Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School celebrated it with excitement and enthusiasm on 19th July 2025, Saturday. The little ones celebrated the rainy weather with a rhyme session. The teachers decorated the umbrellas beautifully to make the day more interesting. Students came in school inform. They went to the play room for story telling session where teachers also showed them videos on rainy season. They were also taken out in playground for fun frog race. Students created rain-themed artwork, including drawings and crafts such as umbrellas and raindrops, which were displayed in the classroom. They brought their favourite food and snacks. Children sang popular rain songs, enhancing their musical skills and adding a joyful atmosphere to the classroom. They were taken out for photo session.
Monsoon Mania was a grand success as it not only encouraged creativity and a love for nature among children but it also reinforced the school’s commitment to holistic education and nurturing well-rounded individuals.

MOTHER’S DAY ACTIVITY – BAGLESS DAY

“The best way to learn is by doing “

Bagless day in school does not only provide a platform to encourage students to participate in the extracurricular activities but is also an attempt to provide a different module of learning for better performance.

Our tiny tots started the day with the fruit break, some fun talks and stories. They were taken out for some outdoor fun games like Grab the Cone in K.G. and Ball Balancing in Nursery. The day was full of energy and the children were ready to do indoor activities. As 8th May signifies the Mother’s Day 🤱, children were passionately ready to do Mother’s Day Activity to show love and affection for their mothers. Children did Fork Impression 🍴flowers activity to make a beautiful planter for their mothers in K.G.In nursery children did Bubble Wrap 🌼flowers impression activity to make a beautiful flower bunch💐 for their mothers. It was a pleasure watching children doing something special for their mothers.

CIVIL DEFENCE MOCK DRILL 

DATE: 07.05.2025 

The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi has directed all the school heads to organise  disaster response training for both students and staff. A demonstration video has also been provided to guide schools on how to conduct the mock drills.

As per the guidelines of Directorate of Education (DoE),a Civil Defence Mock Drill was organised at Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School on 7th May 2025 at 12.30 pm. The drill aimed at educating students and staff about safety protocols during civil emergencies and enhancing emergency preparedness following the Pahalgam terror attack. This mock drill was conducted under ‘Operation Abhyaas for disaster response training and safety preparedness in schools.

During the mock drill the teachers responded to a siren by securing doors, windows, and curtains and switched off the electrical appliances. Students were instructed to take cover under desks or near walls, shielding their heads with their schoolbags and hands. The senior students were trained to assist younger students and help maintain order during any stressful situation as demonstrated in the videos shared by DoE. Furthermore, the students were also advised to use thick curtains at home and turn off all lights, including bulbs, phones and torches during similar emergency scenarios.

Our school ensured full participation in the mock drill exercise with the aim of promoting a culture of safety, preparedness and civic responsibility among students in alignment with national priorities.

YELLOW COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION

“Shades of yellow stimulate our little ones with happiness, energy and optimism.”
Yellow is a vibrant and cheerful colour that fills our world with brightness and joy. In our nursery class, we celebrated ‘Yellow Colour Day’ on 5 th May 2025 to introduce our little ones to the significance of this colour. This event aimed not only to have fun with yellow colour but also to help the children understand its importance in our daily lives.
Children were not only beautifully dressed in their favorite yellow dresses but also brought yellow objects and chart projects to make it a complete “Yellow Day.” It was not just a day of colour exploration but a journey into the world of happiness and positivity as represented by yellow colour. It was a fun and interactive way to teach children about the colour yellow while fostering their creativity and imagination. It was indeed a day filled with laughter, learning and the radiance of yellow.

The young stars shared their toys and belongings with each other in a highly spirited and friendly atmosphere.

They were excited while doing the craft activity .

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

“Go green and make our Earth a beautiful Planet to live”

April 22nd, celebrated as The Earth Day was initiated to inspire all to rejoice and cherish the beautiful planet Earth. It is a day when people come together to raise awareness about protecting our planet and taking actions to address environmental issues.

To mark the importance of the Earth Day, pre-primary students were introduced to different and joyful activities. The day started with the happy welcoming feel as children came wearing green colour T-shirt and blue jeans. They brought sapling and seeds to mark their initiative for making mother Earth greener. The day was full of energy as children were out in the garden for nature walk and seed sowing activities. They were also given the brief introduction about the significance and importance of protecting our planet Earth in a storytelling session.

Later, children participated in many activities like – Earth Hand Impression, Cotton Dabbing, Colourings worksheet of the Earth. They were also told to bring green colour food and fruit for the celebration.

At the end of the day, children were presented Head Gear of the Earth in Nursery and Earth brooch in K.G to tell how the Earth is precious for us. Each and every moment of celebration was captured beautifully in photographs.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATION

Baisakhi is the festival of new beginning, hope and happiness. The vibrant spirit of Baisakhi festival came alive at Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School as students of Nursery and K.G. celebrated this significant event. Everyone was dressed in colourful punjabi attire and brought yellow coloured fruit with food. The celebration was a perfect blend of fun, joy and cultural enrichment. Our tiny tots of K.G.enjoyed colouring in the worksheet of *Dhol* and nursery students participated in *Ear Bud printing* on corn worksheet. Clicking photographs with Baisakhi board was the real fun time for the kids. Children had yellow coloured food and fruit to feel the festive vibes of Punjabi culture. Finally, children danced on the Punjabi Bhangra beats . Overall , the children learned about the Punjabi culture and had a fun filled day with their friends.

RED COLOUR DAY

Colours are the essential part of everyone’s life. We cannot imagine the world without colours. Every colour has its own significance.

Red colour signifies love and compassion. To give the recognition of Primary colour Red, the students of class Nursery celebrated ‘Red Colour Day’ on 8th April 2025 at the school. Students were told to dress up in Red colour attire and bring red-coloured objects with red colour food

Red Day celebration was a wonderful learning activity which helped the children to sort and classify the objects, based on colours. Reinforcing the cognitive skills, children did fingerprinting in strawberry. It was a scintillating day with innocent faces gleaming and reflecting brightness joy love and happiness.

Colour changing experiment of plain water into Red coloured water added special attraction to

Red Day Celebration. Object talk was organized and Red Day activity was also done. Heart-shaped takeaway was also given to each student. Overall, it was a fun and joyful experience for children.

WORLD HEALTH DAY

Our toddlers celebrated “World Health Day”

With great enthusiasm and awareness, our toddlers celebrated World Health Day. The school was filled with the spirit of living a healthy lifestyle

It was a day full of learning, fun and inspiration, reminding us all that health truly comes first.
The teachers of classes Nursery and K.G. organized a workshop on “THE IMPORTANCE OF A GOOD HYGIENE AND HEALTHY EATING”. The teachers explained to students how they can maintain a healthy lifestyle by good hygiene and clean & healthy eating habits which we should follow in our daily life. The children also understood what are the ill effects of junk food on our body and mind. Their teachers guided them that regular exercise & yoga are also essential for a fit body.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

With joy and excitement in the air, LT. COL. MEHAR LITTLE ANGELS SR. SEC. SCHOOL warmly welcomed its little stars on Acclimatization Day on April 1st. As the tiny tots entered the school, they were welcomed with cheerful rhymes playing in the background, filling the atmosphere with happiness. Teachers greeted them with cheerful high-fives, adding to their excitement. 

 The school was beautifully decorated with colourful balloons, making the day even more special. 

The highlight of the day was a special takeaway craft activity, where the little ones created keepsake to remember their first day. The school echoed with laughter and happiness, making it a truly heart warming experience for the tiny tots.
